Read the rental contract first
The rental contract is the reference for insurance coverage and your responsibilities as a renter. Before you sign, read the insurance section and ask the branch team about anything that is unclear.
Inspect and document the car at pickup
Walk around the car with the branch employee and note any existing scratches or dents. Taking clear photos with the date and time helps avoid disagreement when you return the car.
Coverage and deductible, in general terms
Coverage generally refers to the damage the insurance policy pays for, while the deductible is the part of the cost that the renter may have to bear in some cases.
Both depend on the type of insurance and the terms written in the contract, so always check them in your own contract.
If an accident happens
- Make sure you and your passengers are safe first, and move to a safe place if possible.
- Report the accident to Najm or the traffic police, as appropriate for the location and type of accident.
- Contact the rental company immediately and tell them what happened.
- Keep a copy of the accident report and any documents you receive, as they are needed to process the claim.
Coverage follows the signed contract
Any insurance coverage is subject to the terms of the rental contract you signed. If you have a question about a specific situation, contact the rental company before you act.
This article is general information to help you understand rental car insurance. It is not a description of a specific policy; the terms of your signed rental contract always apply.
